Side effects
When starting the Pill, some possible side-effects include:
- slight loss of blood (spotting) between periods
- slight appetite increase or weight gain
- slight nausea (feeling sick) - this may be better if the pill is taken with a meal.
- sore breasts.
If the mixture of hormones is not right for your body, you might notice:
- more headaches than normal
- loss of interest in sex
- feeling depressed or mood swings
- an increase in vaginal discharge or thrush
- significant weight gain

- severe and sudden pains in the chest
- severe headaches
- sudden blurred vision or loss of sight
- tenderness, pain or swelling in the lower leg.
